CVS Deals and Scenarios 10/19-10/25

I’m trying out a new thing with adding some pictures. Let me know if you like it or not. If you find it makes this harder to read, then I won’t do the pictures next time. Feedback is appreciated!

Disclaimer: This is a work in progress. I will continually update things throughout the week if new things are found! I don’t have every deal that there is listed, just what I think are the best deals. See more deals and coupon match ups HERE and HERE.

For the Newbie:

If you haven’t registered your card with your email address, go ahead and do so at, or call 1-800-SHOP CVS. Eventually they will send you a $4/20 purchase. Start collecting the coupon inserts every week from now on, and save every coupon!
For CVS 101 go HERE. For coupon basics for newbies go HERE.

  1. You are so on top of things! THanks so much! I really like the pictures too–that helps a lot for us newbies!

  2. The pictures are great. Thanks :) BR/BR/Quick question… something is bugging me, and I guess it’s because some couponers use the ECBs to show the good deal they got on that day’s purchase (the day the ECBs print out). This seems to be what you do, right? Like, “Free after ECBs”. Other couponers use the ECBs to show the good deal they got when they SPENT their ECBs… like “only $.49 OOP when using ECBs”. We can’t consider the same ECBs a good deal on both sides of the transactions. I guess it’s only confusing because I go back and forth between lots of different sites trying to find the good deals. It’s easy to confuse how good a deal I’m getting if I’m not being consistent in how I show my good deals, right? BR/BR/Thanks for any help.BR/BR/~Karen

  3. Karen M -BR/BR/Here’s how I show my deals when I make a trip:BR/BR/Total spent: this is the amount in cash or on a gift card I have spentBR/BR/Total ECBs earned: XX – however many it is. BR/BR/The ECBs I earn on a trip is never subtracted from my total spent. BR/BR/The only ECBs I subtract in my transactions are actual ECBs I have from previous transactions.BR/BR/I hope this makes sense. I was trying to figure out what you were asking, and was myself a little confused…lol BR/BR/Let me know if this doesn’t clear it up for you.

  4. I love the pics. Nice addition. BR/BR/I have a question about the coupon printer… for the colgate coupons it won’t let me download the coupon printer. It keeps telling me I have an error. Even my hubby (who is a computer nerd) can’t get it to work. Is anyone else having this problem???

  5. Thanks mama! Now to figure out the lowest OOP. I have $3/$15 Q’s to help build up ECBs so I can use my $10/$50’s. I only have $8 in ECBs right now- eeep! I may run to the store that has the Well Patches to buy them and up my ECBs, using the $3/$15, my ECBs and the $1 off Q I found in the recycling dumpster (I don’t climb in, he he). That and some Almay bars to fill and the two CVS gold bars I can still get… $15.94 after Q’s less than a dollar OOP plus tax? If it’s in stock, sigh.BR/I love your blog!

  6. Crystal, BR/BR/That clears it up nicely. Thanks. I think I was particularly confused b/c of this from another blog:BR/BR/karen – i am only counting the ecbs used as part of what i “spent” not saved.BR/BR/summary:BR/spent $33.98 ecb + $1.29 on gc (+$35.27 spent)BR/received $4 ecb (-$4)BR/will receive $9.99 for glade flameless candle mir SS 9/7/08 (-$9.99)BR/total cost: $21.28BR/BR/BUT she has ECBs in the spent and received column on this one transaction she gave as an example. It’s not such a good deal if counting the same ECB on both ends of transactions.BR/BR/Thank you for clarifying. I love your postings, esp. the fact that you post the flyer deals early so we can start working on our shopping lists before the Sunday paper comes out. Love it!

  7. sorry to bug you again…it looks like the listerine whitening rinse coupon is $1 or $1.50 not $2.

  8. another deal:BR/Listerine Agent Cool Blue ($4.49) $3 ECBS A HREF=”” REL=”nofollow”$1 coupon here/A (limit 5) = $.49 each

  9. Great list of scenarios! Go check mine out as well:BR/A HREF=”” REL=”nofollow”CVS Scenarios 10/19-10/25/A

  10. I’ve been CVSing for about a month now and I’m just starting to get the hang of it… I think. Anyway, I think I found a decent deal if you have the $4/$20 purchase AND those $2 printable windex, pledge, scrubbing bubbles coupons. I’m going to buy 8 (on sale for 2/$5) of these for a total of $20. Use 8 – $2 coupons along with the 4/20 and I should only have to pay the tax. Granted, no ECB’s earned but it’s all FREE cleaning supplies… YIPPEEE!!!!

  11. Thank you for your easy to understand list. You are the first place I check to figure out my CVS plan. I appreciate all the effort you put into this. I hope that you daughter feels better soon.

  12. I love how you have your deals planned out. I do have 2 questions if anyone can answer them. First is how do you go about transfering a perscription? I’ve never done it. And two, how long does it take to start receivig crt coupons when you use your cvs card. The only coupons I have ever received is the ecb’s that I plan for. I’ve never had any other coupon print for me and I’ve been at this since august. I thought something would of kicked in by now.

  13. Thanks for all your hard work Crystal. Between this post and your FTGU W2 post I was able to really rock it at CVS this week. I lucked out and got the limit on the Butler toothbrushes so we are stocked up. Patti PS. I purchased both the Just for Men and Excederin in the same transaction but didn’t get a duplicate receipt. Any recommendations on how I should handle the MIR paperwork with just 1 receipt?

  14. I can help out with the Transferred prescriptions question from Beth… BR/ depending on wat coupons you are using.. the 25 dollar transfer coupon from cvs itself…or the 30 rite aid coupon…BR/ with the cvs coupon all you have to do is transfer a prescription from another pharmacy to cvs and they will let you use the coupon when you pick up the prescription the first time… BR/most cvs stores also accept competitor coupons for prescriptions only… so if you have a 30 gift card coupon from rite aid… you can transfer a prescription to cvs or fill a new prescription at cvs and use the coupon and recieve a 30 gift card… which you can use to help earn ecbs… is cvs great!!!
