Why I’m Becoming a Vegan

This announcement probably doesn’t come as much of a surprise to you guys, but I’m becoming a vegan.

Over the past 7 years I’ve been slowly moving towards this, though I wasn’t aware of it. When I turned my life around and got healthy, I moved into a “mostly” vegetarian diet with almost exclusive organic foods. As you all have witnessed here, this allowed me to drop from a size 16 to a size 4.

Healthier eating became a lifestyle for me. And at times, I’d call myself the “Wannabe Vegan,” because I really wanted to become a vegan but didn’t feel fully ready.

So what is a vegan? A vegan is someone that doesn’t eat any animal products or animal bi-products (ie. meat, dairy, etc…).

After my most recent juice cleanse (see the results here), I saw that my only option at this point was to move into the vegan diet and lifestyle.

Watch the video to see more about my thoughts on this, a little humor thrown in, some puppy cuteness, and dancing (of course!).

Be sure to subscribe to my YouTube channel for the latest recipes I try, and watch my journey into veganism.

Let me know your thoughts and questions down below guys! I’m exited to venture into this vegan lifestyle, and record my journey along the way.

About the Author:

I'm a former sweet-tooth turned health-nut. After a difficult loss of a first pregnancy and having a second child with a heart condition, I became obsessed with health and wellness. I revamped our entire family's lifestyle, dropped seven pant sizes, and created a website where I could share our story and help support people wanting to make small changes day by day in order to live well. I also support my family by the work that I do here through advertising content, affiliates, and partnership/consultant links within content. When you click and/or order, it puts food on our table. Thanks for all your support, and may you live well and thrive!

This is so great Crystal! I became a vegan three months ago and it has been amazing. If you watch this video I promise you won’t have any failure! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=es6U00LMmC4

I became a vegan overnight just after watching it, and then I started researching about the cruelty in the fashion (clothes, make up, lotions) and other areas, and it’s completely heart breaking. Veganism is definitely a life style, a mind set, that focus on compassion.

Congratulations Crystal, you won’t regret this ever.

    Besos,

    Soraya

That’s awesome, Crystal, ME TOO! Well, at least a variation thereof. Since the beginning of the year, I have started following the Nutritarian way of eating, and I’m loving it. There are lots of similarities to being Vegan/vegetarian. I was working my way toward doing this completely, even got my sister involved, and we were doing great and feeling even better. As the month went on and we got stricter with our diets, things began to happen, last Friday, I began to feel really bad, lethargic, with flu-like symptoms, and wamo, I was detoxing, this lasted about 5 days for me and I was talking with my sister (we live in different countries, by the way) and she was experiencing the same symptoms. I am back to myself right now, and I feel there’s no looking back. After the first few days of my new dietary lifestyle, I could really tell a difference, in how I was feeling especially when I’d awake in the mornings, and the changes in my body, I also began doing the dry brushing in the morning and at night before I showered, the results are great. So right on, with the right on. I’m looking forward to all of the magnificent results of a better diet and way of thinking. I would encourage all who would like to, to try it, and like everything else, everything is not for everybody. If you love it, and it’s good for you, by all means keep doing it. I’m looking forward to hearing more about the success of your Vegan decision. Have a great day!
