Natural and Thrifty in 365: #74 Recycled Planters From Cereal Boxes

Here’s a fabulous idea! If you’ve been wanting to garden, but don’t have the money for expensive planters, you can recycle your cereal boxes and turn them into planters. Has anyone done this before?

  1. I don’t think this is a good idea with colored cardboard! I know it’s not recommended to use colored newspaper when you make plant pots (because of the chemicals), and I have to wonder if this would apply to cardboard also.

    Erring on the side of caution….
