Natural and Thrifty in 365: #260 Reusable Mop Cloths & Solution

Using floor cleaning products can be expensive when you have to buy the manufacturer’s refills and cleaning solution.  If you own a Swiffer WetJet, here is a simple way to save money by making your own washable cleaning pads.

Also, find out how to reuse the “non-reusable” solution bottle so you can fill it with your own vinegar and water cleaning solution.  I’d probably add a few drops of tea tree oil and lavender essential oil for added germ-fighting power and aromatherapy.

Do you use a natural cleaning solution for your refillable mop?

  1. thank you! my mom and I had been trying to figure out how to refill- as her pets have her cleaning her kitchen daily and more if it is rainy out. Will defiantly be sharing this with her.

  2. After our swiffer died, I bought a Libman with 2 re-usable micro cloths. It doesn’t have an attached spray bottle. We use a regular spray bottle with vinegar, water and peppermint essential oil (that helps deter ants in summer!)
