I’m currently on another juice cleanse, and this time I’m embarking on a new journey with my juicing. It’s a new adventure for me, if you will. Actually, I’m pretty much using myself as a test subject, because you all asked me to. My readers asked me to test out the Gerson therapy, so why not? Why wouldn’t I? It means I will gain more knowledge on the subject of cleansing, juicing, healthier living, and have a fun adventure to share here on my site.
Sounds like a plan.
So what is it exactly that I’m doing? I’m researching and testing out the Gerson therapy method of juicing.
The Gerson therapy consists of the following:
- Juice Diet: 13 Glasses Per Day
- Vegetable Soups
- Teas (peppermint, chamomile, pau d’arco teas)
- Five Coffee Enemas Per Day
- Castor Oil Treatment
- Natural Supplements
Now before you freak out on me and are like….Crystal you’re doing five coffee enemas a day….WTF and first off: what the heck is a coffee enema? I’m glad you asked. You can read up on coffee enemas here.
I am doing one coffee enema per day, juicing, vegetable soups, teas, and natural supplements. The castor oil treatment? Not so much. I’ll stick with prune juice. I’ve never been a fan of castor oil, and always use prune juice as a natural way to flush out the system.
Dr. Gerson would probably scold me for doing it this way. She definitely recommends the full five coffee enemas per day for people with conditions. But as it stands currently, I’m not suffering from a disease and am not doing this cleanse for this purpose. I’m doing it for overall health purposes and cleansing, and ’cause you guys asked me to do it – and you know how I get when I’m asked to do something that sounds crazy.
I’m like….sign me up!!!!
If you’d like to know more about the Gerson therapy, this was a really enlightening book here. I will be referencing this book during my cleanse.
So, I’ll be updating how I do on my Facebook profile on a daily basis, and will blog about my journey here. But first off, let’s chat about this. Do you know about this therapy method and have any tips/tricks for it? Do you think I’m completely off my rocker, and are just gonna sit back with some popcorn and watch? Sound off!
Oh, and P.S.: This is a test for myself. I do not recommend anyone follow along with me on this one. And I’m most definitely not giving you medical advice. Talk to your doctor, before embarking on something like this.
