Lemon water is a daily staple for me. Most people freak out when the milk and bread are gone (have you seen the bread aisle pictures before a snowstorm?), but I’ve got to have a bag of lemons or chaos will ensue. Lemons are pretty much the most vital item in my juicing recipes, as well as the most important item in my fridge on a day-to-day basis.

My kids drink lemon water, I drink it, ┬ámy guests drink it, my dog drinks it….wait scratch that. The dog doesn’t really drink it, but you get the point.

Lemons have so many amazing healthy benefits and here are 10 of them….

1. Freshen breathe.

2. Help maintain healthy gums, and may help prevent or reduce diseases like gingivitis.

3. Cleanse the digestive system.

4. Energize the body.

5. Promote clearer skin.

6. Balance the PH levels of the body.

7. Aid in digestion.

8. Improve mood.

9. Promote healing.

10. Provide much-needed Vitamins C, Folate, and Potassium.

With so many benefits, everyone should be downing a glass of this every single day. It’s the first thing I do at the onset of a cold, when I wake up in the morning, when my mood is down in the dumps, or I just feel cruddy physically.

It kind of makes me want to do a lemon challenge with all of you guys. A sort of “try lemon in your water once a day for a week, and then share your results” kind of challenge. What do you think? Think you guys could do it?
