The very last (natural-living) change I FINALLY made…

It has taken me two years to finally write this post for you. As you know, my journey into health started out with natural remedies/natural products, which lead into fitness, juicing, and eventually a plant-based diet.

All of these changes have affected my and my family’s life for the better. But there was one final change that I put off because I just didn’t really deem it important.

You see…

I’m not a “made-up” girl.

If I wear make-up, then it’s because I’m going out to an event, or filming a video. I’ve never really been a fan of “plastering” stuff on my face.

So when I starting using make-up more often a couple years ago for video, I decided that maybe I should try more “natural” stuff. That lead me to using Beautycounter, after I found out that all of their products are rated 1-2 (safe zone) by EWG’s skindeep database.

At first I simply loved the products. I loved how it felt like I wasn’t wearing anything, and I especially loved the smooth creaminess of the lipsticks. I was definitely an instant fan of everything I bought.

Then a while later I ran out of makeup, and had to pick up a random brand from the store in order to have something for an event that came up that day.

Within MOMENTS after putting on the “other brand” makeup, I had a debilitating migraine that lasted for two days.

You see…I left something out of the story here… I used to suffer from frequent migraines, despite the changes I had made in my diet and lifestyle. It wasn’t until I had started using Beautycounter, that the migraines had stopped. I never really thought much of it, until I got stuck using something else.

It took me a few weeks of migraines while using the “other guys” makeup to put two and two together.

So I went back to using Beautycounter, and haven’t had an issue since.

Now.. why am I just now telling you about this?

Because, I swore up and down that I would never promote or sell a makeup brand on my site – I’m simply not a makeup girl. I don’t know how to do fancy applications, or cool tutorials on youtube.

I’m just not that interested in it, nor am I that talented.

But the other day I was telling someone about how Beautycounter helped me so much, and the person thought it was a shame I wasn’t telling more women about this – because SO MANY PEOPLE are suffering from the toxins in their beauty supplies.

Instantly, I felt convicted and ashamed that I had not been telling everyone about this.

I felt even more so after seeing someone in my Friend feed leaving the hospital after an extended stay due to migraines (this isn’t to say that makeup would be the instant fix – but that the similarity with my story hit me right in the gut).

Please forgive me for not saying something sooner to you about the toxins in your beauty supplies, and shouting it from the rooftops that there is a better option.

Please forgive my stubborn butt for thinking that just because I’m not a “make-up girl,” I couldn’t share this with you to hopefully help change your life for the better.

Now onto the fun stuff.. where I help you get a bunch of stuff for free from Beautycounter!

I'm a former sweet-tooth turned health-nut. After a difficult loss of a first pregnancy and having a second child with a heart condition, I became obsessed with health and wellness. I revamped our entire family's lifestyle, dropped seven pant sizes, and created a website where I could share our story and help support people wanting to make small changes day by day in order to live well. I also support my family by the work that I do here through advertising content, affiliates, and partnership/consultant links within content. When you click and/or order, it puts food on our table. Thanks for all your support, and may you live well and thrive!
