The cannabis (marijuana) plant has been around for a very long time – since 26,900 B.C. actually. There’s a lot of confusion around what CBD oil is – most people think it gets you high, but this is incorrect.

Throughout history, hemp has been used for for a range of products like rope, fabric, and some medicines. In recent years, the plant has been illegally used as a mind-altering drug because of its high quantities of THC (Tetrahydrocannabinol).

But as I said, CBD doesn’t get you high and is different from THC. It is from a completely different part of the plant, but has many benefits!

Here’s how CBD is different…

THC is responsible for the highs that people seek from the plant.

CBD (Cannabidiol) oil contains no THC, and has become a legal and sought-out remedy for medicinal purposes by many people (including myself!).

It comes mainly from the hemp plant, but you can get CBD from other plants and sources. Medical Marijuana, Inc and Kannaway (you may have recently seen them talked about on Dateline and The History Channel) now also have CBD from the Humulus plant (Hops, basically).

CBD oil is controversial mainly because people think it gets you high, and don’t understand what it actually does. But as more research is conducted, it is fast becoming a go-to natural remedy for some common ailments such as anxiety and pain conditions.

Many cancer patients are also seeking it out, though there is still much debate around this.

So…what exactly is CBD Oil?

CBD oil is a chemical compound – among 104 other compounds – that is extracted from the cannabis plant. Unlike THC, which is the compound in the plant that is responsible for the mind-altering and addictive uses, CBD oil has no psychoactive properties.

The CBD oils that are used in a medicinal method are derived from the hemp part of the cannabis plant. Hemp is the least processed part of the plant and is very different from marijuana, the mind-altering portion of the plant.

After CBD is extracted from the cannabis plant, it’s diluted with coconut or hemp seed oil. These added oils work as carriers to enable the CBD ingredient to help a variety of medical ailments.

There are a ton of recent studies that show so many potential benefits to CBD (I list these more in depth along with links to all relevant studies in this free CBD oil Benefits & Uses here).

Here are a couple of the things that a lot of these studies show CBD to be promising with:

Sleep Issues

Neurological Issues

Pets are also shown to benefit from CBD!

You can see these and more plus the links to all the medical studies in this free ebook.

I’ve used quite a few CBD products from various companies, and so far Kannaway seems to have the best quality, variety of products, and backing (backed by Medical Marijuana, Inc). You can read up on them and find products here.
