Most people (actually…it’s probably everyone) can benefit from taking some sort of supplements if they aren’t getting enough vitamins and minerals from diet.

So, what are supplements?

Supplements are designed to “SUPPLEMENT” a healthy diet, not replace nutritious foods. This is where a lot of people get into a viscous cycle of popping pills and hoping that they will help. Having a base of a healthy diet is crucial, if you are hopeful of supplements helping.

So once you have that mindset taken care of..how do you know if you need supplements?

If you have a concern about a specific deficiency, you can find out by taking a simple blood test and speaking to your doctor/medical professional. They will specific supplementation recommendations.

When it comes to supplements, it’s important to not overdose. This is especially true when it comes to multi-vitamins and certain specific vitamins. Use the proper dosage recommended, and be careful with what you eat as a lot of foods now have added vitamins.

It’s also important to realize that some supplements can interfere with certain medications, or be bad if you are about to undergo surgery.

Most all people can benefit from some supplements, especially when it comes to overall health, supporting immunity, and wellness.
